IstanbulKart

If you are going to use public transport in Istanbul, you will need to buy the IstanbulKart.

The Istanbulkart is valid for the all government transport, like: buses, funicular, train, trams, ferryboat, subway.  

Mention, please, that to buy the IstanbulKart you can just with Turkish liras, so arrived to Istanbul, try to find the Exchange office to exchange your money.  

You can buy IstanbulKart in the airport or near the ferryboat stations in the trails with water and food. 

To put money on the IsanbulKart you should use POS terminals, that you can find near transport stations. Just put IstanbulKart and Liras inside the POS terminal. 

The cost of the transit will depends of the type of transport (and direction for ferry boats) you will use. 

On the buses, entering to subway or tram stations, ferryboats you will see the terminal, where you will need to put Istanbulkart to use transport. 

Mention, please, that you can use IstanbulKart JUST in a government transport.
